“Hannah Kim Varamini is an interdisciplinary artist based in Los Angeles. She was born in Washington, D.C. to first-generation Korean immigrants. She received her BFA from Cornell University and MFA from California Institute of the Arts. Her work employs language and symbology to examine ideologies of nationalism and articulate stories of the postcolonial experience, diaspora, and cultural hybridity. In 2008, she spent a life-changing year in Namibia on a Fulbright fellowship.”
